Hugh Jackman: ‘The Rock Got Me In Shape
source: wzronline.com
Contact Music (via Business Standard) spoke with Hugh Jackman, who revealed that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson helped him get into shape for The Wolverine with a suggestion of a 6,000 calorie a day diet.
He said: “I called my buddy The Rock for tips. I lost weight doing ‘Les Miserables’. He said, ‘Here’s the deal – three hours in the gym and 6,000 calories, eating very lean. You gotta do that for six months.’ I did it and let me tell you, The Rock is crazy! He is insane. But we did it and the results are there.”
His diet mostly consisted of protein-filled chicken breasts, which Jackman says he can no longer eat. He added: “Let me just say, I will not be eating chicken breasts for lunch anymore.”

Lanny Poffo On The McMahon/Savage Issues
– Lanny Poffo was a guest on Live Audio Wrestling Sunday night.
Here are the highlights…
The issue between Vince McMahon and Randy Savage: “If I didn’t have the guts to ask Randy to his face about what you’re referring to, then I wouldn’t dare speculate about it now.”
If the WWE has contacted the family about the Hall of Fame: “I got a call from John Laurinaitis before the Miami (WrestleMania), the year before last. He was real nice to me, he just forgot to extend his condolences. I’m from the old school; even if you’re glad he’s dead, just pretend like you loved him and extend your condolences. That’s all I ask. He was just trying to get my feedback on that. I said, ‘Go ahead and do it, but make sure you play the video of the Huckster and the Nacho Man,’ so he can keep it even.”

Jake Roberts Speaks Out – 2014 Royal Rumble, DDP Yoga, More
WWE legend Jake “The Snake” Roberts recently appeared on Wrestling Heels Radio. Here are
some highlights:
Possibly returning at the 2014 Royal Rumble: “That’s my dream. That’s my dream. That’s nothing they’ve said. I’ve been wanting to go back, man. Whenever I started losing the weight, whenever I started seeing the world again, whenever I started seeing progress in myself, when I seen – when I started dreaming again, man, dreaming of not so much getting back to the ring, at first. The dreams at first were taking awalk. I went and actually walked up Stone Mountain, man, few months ago, and I could not do that years ago even when, you know, I was in wrestling form, you know? It was a very tough experience.”
Who he’d like to face in WWE: “I would wrestle Shane McMahon. I think I’d enjoy that, and I think it would be a match he could be proud of and that I could be proud of. There’s lots of other guys – a few other guys. I say lots, but there’s a few other guys I wouldn’t mind being in the ring with. I think I could do something spectacular with [John] Cena, but here’s the thing. I could do something spectacular with anybody ’cause Jake the Snake did that. I’ve proven that.”
CM Punk’s promos: “Well, he’s trying to slow it down, but he doesn’t get it yet. You know what, man? Here’s the thing. We’ll just throw this out here. WWE, Jake the Snake calling. I have a proposition, okay? Here’s my proposition. You give me five weeks. Give me an hour a week with five guys, and I will significantly change not only them but I will change the look of Raw, in five weeks. I will do it by simply talking to them, by sitting them underneath the learning tree if you will and just casting it out there, letting them absorb what I give and I won’t exactly remember everything I tell them that they’ll get enough to change your product significantly. Trust me. Ta da.”
DDP Yoga: “It’s incredible, Bro. It is just incredible. I mean all the years I spent in gyms and, believe it or not, I did work out. I mean, there was a lot of sacrificing going to gyms. There’s a lot of pain in trying to do too much weight ’cause you think that’s going to make you bigger. No, it’s going to – it might make you bigger for a short time until your injuries start to come up through it, but all those years, I was doing that stuff to my body and I didn’t have a clue as to what I was doing, man.
“Back then, a workout you went inthe gymand you pushed as hard as you could with as much as you could, and, of course, you supplemented that with powders and pills and steroids. You do get bigger, but at the same time, you’re tearing your body apart, you know. See, god didn’t make us to carry 300 pounds on are back. It’s just been recently, in the last several years, that people have gotten into core strength, and that’s the most important part, man. I mean, it was such idiots not to have learned it sooner because, I mean, the biggest part of your body is the trunk of your body, your chest and your waist and your abs.
“That’s the biggest part, and if you start building power there, that feeds out into your arms and your legs, whereas before we’re out there just trying to make our arms bigger. So I’ll just move that. We’re not doing anything for our core strength, and our core strength is where the power comes from. So if you don’t build your power plan, you’re just wasting time, and it’s really – it aggravates me and chaps my ass. Thisworkoutis so much easier and you get twice the results It’s incredible. It’s not – you don’t have to make it impossible. My mother, she’s in a rest home. I’m trying to get her doing it because you can actually do it from a wheelchair. The upper-body stuff she could do, and working with the dynamic resistance, that’s the whole key, man.
“You make your body work against itself. So you’re not going to do too much because, you know, you can try as hard as you want. You can’t overdo it unless you start doing all these extreme things. So you start out slow and you build. There’sworkoutsthere to fit every need, and there’s DVDs. There’s workouts there to fit, the psycho, could go for an hour and a half and then there’s workouts that works specifically, maybe, on your waist or whatever, that go 10, 15 minutes. And the results are just unbelievable. He never started this program thinking aboutweight loss. That wasn’t his – that wasn’t his directive. He wanted to do something to help with the injuries and to help with the core strength. Well, he did it, man, but then he goes into this eating plan and he won’t let you call it a diet because you’re not dieting. You’re getting much healthier, you know? First three letter of diet is die. No, man. We’re not dying.”

The Rock Explains Why He’s Facing John Cena Again
IGN.com and Matt Fowler interviewed The Rock to talk
about the long-term plans of working with John Cena and his new TV show The
Hero. Here are some highlights:
The Rock on his long-term plans with John Cena: “You have to understand that my return back into the WWE was years in the making. And since I’ve been back, it’s been a three year-long journey that started at WrestleMania 27 in Atlanta. So, John has always been my first choice (to work with).”
The Rock on how he wanted to work with someone he could do big business with: “Here’s the thing. The question was that if I was going to go back in the WWE, how could I go back and make the most impact? With who can I headline WrestleMania in that company and make the most impact? And the bottom line is that it continues to be John Cena. Just in terms of, and we’ll use a Hollywood term here, box office appeal. Universal appeal. Athletic pairing. So there are a lot of reasons.”
The Rock on how he wants to give back to the business and help elevate Cena: “What I’m talking about is being able to go back to the WWE and give back to the business, which is in my blood and has allowed me a platform to perform which then, 12 years ago, allowed me to make he transition to Hollywood. So the scenario I’ve dreamed of is that I’m able to go back, become WWE champion, go into the what is considered the biggest marketplace in the world, which is the New York City area, at MetLife Stadium and headline WrestleMania as champion and give back to the business, the fans, the company, and their number one hero. So I couldn’t have asked for a better scenario and we’re going to have a blast.”
The Rock’s thoughts on his match with Cena at Wrestlemania 29: “I think we’re going to have a great match and my hope is that it’s going to be a classic.”

Backstage Update – The Undertaker vs. CM Punk
source:wzronline
As of last week, The Undertaker vs. CM Punk was official for WrestleMania 29. At this time, creative is said to be scrambling to fast track the angle, which started with Punk’s promo on Monday referring to himself as an “icon” above Superstars and God.
Internally, there is concern with building to the match due to Punk losing two PPVs in a row and then to Cena on Monday. Many feel that the loss to Undertaker at WrestleMania could really damage one of the two names (the other being John Cena) who show they can draw on the road currently.

Chris Jericho Discusses Triple H Gaining Power In WWE
Chris Jericho recently spoke about his return to WWE, his relationship with
Triple H and more. Here is what he had to say…
“It’s a changing of the guard. We’re in a transitional period right now between bosses. Vince is handing the reigns over to Triple H and Triple H has a lot of responsibilities and a lot of power now and it’s going to keep increasing because eventually Vince is going to give it up and stop. I don’t know if he’ll do it until he dies. I think over the next two or three years Triple H will be making most of the big decisions and Vince will be brought on as a consultant.
I know for this deal that I made to come back this time, I talked completely with Triple H. I didn’t talk with Vince at all and I’d always talked to Vince about any deal I ever had. Triple H is pretty much the boss, although Vince is always going to be the boss. But Triple H is in charge of more and more and more and developmental is a big part of that.
To be honest with you, he’s doing a great job. In the early 90s it’s no secret there was no love lost between he and I. We didn’t like each other, we didn’t get along. We had great matches, but there was always a personality issue. That stopped years and years ago and now I consider Triple H a pretty good friend. I’ll be completely flatly honest, I think he’s the right guy to take over the company. I think he’s prepared for it. He’s learning a lot about how to be the corporate guy. There’s so much more than just calling finishes and signing guys. He’s got to run the whole corporate side of it. Go to all the meetings, do all that stuff. I think it’s in very good hands if Vince ever retires or passes away.”
